There is one big and fundamental difference between arguments on the one hand and statements of fact on the other.

The qualities of a statement of fact are either TRUE or FALSE. Is a statement of fact true or false. A false statement is a lie.

The qualities of an argument on the other hand are whether it is VALID or INVALID.

Hence the crucial and fundamental difference betweent the two.
