Haiku Herman

Haiku Herman

The first copy of my book, a haiku anthology,  has been sent  via Parliament, to Herman van Rompuy, President of the European Council, who was on official visit in Malta some weeks ago,  writes haiku and  has recently published his first haiku collection. This has earned him the nickname of Haiku Herman.

The book has an introduction by Prof Oliver Friggieri and by the late Rev Prof Peter Serracino Inglott. A special thanks also goes to Lino Spiteri for his patience, suggestions  and especially his eye for detail.

Congratulations, dear Franco for your praiseworthy effort in the field of culture.

I am looking forward to read your poetic thoughts, but first I advise those who are launching your literary work to inform us from where and with effect from which date we could purchase a copy as, to date, no such information is available.

Keep it up, Franco, we treasure your struggle against odds for many are the genuine Maltese who share your beliefs!

We have had enough of corruption and sleaze in these Islands and people who stand up to be counted are the ones who should be trusted!

    The Party is not supreme.

The Nation and the People are the ones who deserve loyalty!

MALTA and its PEOPLE first and foremost!

Sincerament nawguralek ghal dan il-ktieb Franco.

Jien kemm ilek li ghamilt dal blog tajtni l-opportunita nipprova nifmek ghalkemm mhux dejjem gibt il-posts tieghi (u dan ghamiltu bla raguni valida ghax sa fejn naf jien dejjem kont moderat f’dak li nikteb)

Li ghadni ma nistax nifhem hu:

    1. Kif ghadek ma ndunajtx li dak li qed taghmel huwa sproporzjonat u esagerat
Kulhadd jaf, li kieku thallejt tohrog ghal elezzjoni, probabli bhalissa kont tkun qed iggib ruhek ferm differenti! Kieku probabli kont tkun qieghed taqdef mal-partit u mhux tipprova tiskreditah billi tasal anke li tichad l-istorja sagrosanta tieghek innifsek u ta pajjizek.

    2. Kif ghadek qatt ma ghidtilna fejn trid tasal u fuq il-passi ta min qed timxi?

    3. Kif ghadek tghid li int Nazzjonalist, iktar minn kulhadd sahansitra iktar minn EFA, meta fl-istorja ta dan il-partit zgur li ma kien hemm hadd li ghamillu hsara daqs kemm qed taghmillu int.

    4. Kif ma taprezzax li il-partit kien honest mieghek meta seta facilment waqqfek milli tohrog f’ismu dak il hin li tithabbar elezzjoni u bdan il-mod kienu jkunu disonesti.

Nistenna minn ghandek u j’Alla permezz tal-Haiku tikkalma daqxejn!

    @@@ HAxIKU @@@

Il-bewwila l-ossesjonata ta’Franco kif ratu li hareg ktieb dlonk qabzet fuq l-ideja u ppublikat ktieb hi ukoll bl-isem ta’ “25 YEARS of HAxIKU”. HAxIKU huwa forma ta’ filosofija ta’kif wiehed jahseb f’xi haga li taparsi tkun ghal hafna, pero fil-verita tkun ghall-ftit, jew bil-kontra ikunu se jhalsu hafna pero jigwadanjaw ftit. F’dan il-ktieb il-bewwila elenkat diversi stejjer fejn is-sens ta’ haxiku kien kbir u kollha taghthom l-isem ta’ per ezempju; HAxiKU Mistra, HAxiKU Vat, HAxIKU Smart City u ohrajn.

Il-ktieb ghandu introduzzjoni mill-aqwa ta’ Fr. Joe Qasha Mula espert fl-arti tal- Haxiku u se jigi launched fil-program ta’ zeppi li kellu jbiegh ix-xarabank, li wkoll inzerta awtorita fil-Haxiku, fejn ilna narawh 20 sena…… u ta’ haxiku li hu jistaqsina fejn huma qeghdin?

Seems that you are afraid to answer my question … have something to hide Franco? Let’s see if you have the cajones to post this comment as well as a reply to the question which you have thus-far evaded … nay – ran away from, for four times.

    From Malta Today:

“A flamboyant rising star in the legal profession up until a few years ago, Patrick Spiteri has been at the centre of several court actions in recent years.

His flashy cars and large boats attracted attention, but so did later his investment advice and property deals. He was also an advisor to Prime Minister Alfred Sant’s Labour government in 1997 when it introduced CET to replace VAT.

Spiteri is appealing various convictions on misappropriation and falsification charges.”

Does Daphne Caruana Galizia know anything about Patrick Spiteri?

    What is haiku?

Haiku is a Japanese poetry form. A haiku uses just a few words to capture a moment and create a picture in the reader’s mind. It is like a tiny window into a scene much larger than itself.

Traditionally, haiku is written in three lines, with five syllables in the first line, seven syllables in the second line, and five syllables in the third line.

    Haiku examples

Here’s a haiku poem written by a poetry student:

    The last winter leaves
    Clinging to the black branches
    Explode into birds.

Dr Franco, you remind me of Dr. Alfred Sant. Writer, textbook politician and honest. Country first then party. Any more analogies? Well done . I will buy this book, sit somewhere away from politicians and relax.
