The political history of the last two hundred years in Europe is the story of restoring power from the monarchies to the people, a movement from arbitrary unfetterd power to the rule of law. The battlecry of the French Revolution : liberty , fraternity, equality has been the fertile soil on which European democarcies have  been nurtured and flourished.

It is the story of the establishment of meritocracy based on the belief that  ability without opportunity is wasted talent. It is the story of the development of democractic constitutions, the separation of powers, the rule of law and accountable governments.

One of  Napoleon’s greatest victories was not military in nature, it was about meritocracy : the career open to talent.

Yet in Malta in 2012 this is the motto of the Evil Clique :

opportunity should not depend on ability but on being a lackey. they blame you for their mistakes and they steal and take the merit of your good ideas. they do not resign for creating problems, yet they expect credit when the same problems are solved.

European history of the last two hundred years is the story of a revolt against this motto.

Where is the European Commission? Where is the Council of Europe? Where is GRECO? They should monitor what is happening here more closely than what they are already doing. Where members of parliament end up with police security behind their doors due to inexistent libel laws.

How does the Evil Clique stay in power? There are Strategists of the  Ways and Means but one of them is the Psychology Police of the Evil Clique. But more of this later. Their aim is to use moral violence on dissenters. In the 8Os it was physical violence. Today moral violence is more in vogue with the Psychology Police of the Evil Clique.  They psychologise about pony shirts but not about the stallions of corruption.

The Psychology Police of the Evil Clique want to suppress our way of dressing and our sense of humour for example. They want to intimidate us and coerce us into lackeys of the Evil Clique.

    Yes I fully agree with Tadinda that Dr. Debono should be appointed by a future labour Government as an assessor without any imposition from the Government an authority entrusted to him to change the system of the Law courts, as accordingly, so that harmony will prevail over what CMB did misguidedly achieve in his many years of inflexibility, apathy and sluggish reign.

    In the Civil Service it is just like you are saying. You make tea for the director and you are on the right track even if you are a donkey. You question anything or anybody above you and your career is down the drain. It’s not just the ministers. It’s also some people who have extreme power. Unfortunately many do not have the guts to speak out because they will be crushed. I was once at tal-barrani and I believed a lot in the principles of the party. But the greed of certain ones and the total disregard to others is sickening. Keep it up.

    I have said and written many a time that you have brass balls. I wish some others (from both sides of the House) have the same hardware. Unfortunately not. I say this because truly GonziPN has passed its sell by date a long time ago and, I do not wish any other Government (of whatever colour) to be in a position to repeat what we all Maltese (excluding the favoured few) have had to go through during these last years.
    I will not ask you to contemplate challenging GonziPN and come out as an independent candidate in the next election. The GoziPN machine will do all of its utmost to kill whatever chance you may have. Besides, our electoral system does not favour people who want to face the electorate on an independent basis.
    I would wish to see you in the Movement of the PL. There I think, together with Tony Abela and some new others, including Joseph Muscat, you would be able to keep the Movement truly on its declared path and you would also be able to bring about the many changes you wish to see happening in these Isles of ours. I wish this to happen for the reason mentioned above. However this may not appeal to you. Which is unfortunate.
    As, as surely day follows night it will take at a minimum three electoral periods for the PN to purge itself of GonziPN, the clique and any remaining remnants. Which is a pity as until such time the PN will not allow you to take part in any election freely and without them putting spokes in this wheel. Which will in turn have the most unfair and inappropriate consequence that you would not be able to give your contribution to this Malta of ours.
    In the absence of all of the above, I would wish Joe Muscat, if he manages to become the next Prime Minister to ask you formally to propose all the necessary changes that are needed at least in our Law Courts, our Police Force and to ensure that all our existing laws are not only codified but properly vetted to ensure that Basic Human Rights are respected.
    I voted for PN in the penultimate election. I voted AD in the last one. I shall be voting PL in the coming election in the true hope that maybe Joe Muscat will make this declared wish come true.

      No sorry, I do not agree. In order to have the right democratic balance in Malta, Franco must remain outside of the PL ‘s area of influence. The PL are already well endowed with capable winners. It is the PN that is in shambles; and absolutely needs people of the right stuff, like Franco and JPO. Let the PN go into opposition. Let the PN cleanse its stables of lame, old, corrupt horses. Let the new PN seek out those honest, strong horses that can take the stain of racing with the best. All Malta will gain from this scenario of two strong parties.
